BIONOMIC SYSTEM© OPEN PERFUSION CELL DESCRIPTION
(Requires BC-110 Controller)

MODEL BC-P700A and BC-P700W

This perfusion cell for the BIONOMIC SYSTEM© provides an open chamber for specimens that must be kept at a very constant temperature and require a constant or intermittent fluid change, where the fluid must be at exactly the same temperature as the specimen.

A microscope cover slip (Ø 18mm) serves as the specimen substrate and is in thermal contact with the temperature controlled cell.  channels in the cell direct the incoming fluid to flow across the surface of the cover slip.  The depth of the fluid is controlled by the position of the effluent tube (suction tube) relative to the cover slip surface.  Fluid depth or thickness is changed by adding or subtracting inserts that position the vertical position of the effluent tube.

A cavity in the temperature controlled cell houses a coil of tubing through which the incoming fluid flows - thereby assuring a consistent temperature between the incoming fluid and the specimen.

The OPEN PERFUSION CELL is available in an air cooled version (for temperatures between 12 and 60°C) and a water cooled design (for temperatures between -5 and 60°C).
